Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal
Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal currently Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) has been the Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Executive Director (Research & strategies), Director (Pharmacology and Clinical Research) at NMIMS University, Mumbai; Director ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab and Professor at L. M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad.
He is first or second teacher from pharmacy who became the Vice Chancellor in 2 diﬀerent government universities. He got the faculty of pharmacy that finally became functional in 2015. He revived the Faculty of pharmacy in Gujarat University in 2002 a era break of 20 years. He was the nodal oﬃcer to frame structure of pharmacy at GTU..
Dr Goyal has three patents, 18 books, 26 book chapters, over 304 full papers (‘h’ index 34; 4300 citations), over 450 abstracts published in National and International journals. He has guided 43 Ph.D. and 179 M. Pharm. students. He is the recipient of 62 awards, including Best Pharmacy Teacher and Best Pharmaceutical Research Scientist from APTI and Life Time Achievement & Distinguished Service Awards from International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, Canada.
He has over 38 years of experience in Teaching and Research particularly in Cardiovascular Pharmacology & Diabetes. He was a post-doctoral scholar (1984) and vising scientist (1995) at University of Brish Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and vising Professor at Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada (1999, 2001, 2003 and 2006). He is has been the Chairman of Central Regional Commi ee of AICTE, Bhopal and Member, Executive Committee of AICTE, New Delhi.
He is the Fellow of seven professional bodies (FIPS, FIACS, FAMS, FIC, FICN, FNASc. FSCH). He has been the President of Indian Pharmacological Society (2009) and Society of Pharmacovigilance, India (2010-11) and President of Indian Society of Hypertension (2012). He is currently the Vice President of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (India Chapter). He has an ended number of seminars, workshops and conferences as resource Person and also chaired various sessions. Dr. Goyal has been invited to deliver about 186 lectures in India and 26 lectures abroad. As the Vice Chancellor, he was instrumental in geng over 80 Crores grants to the university including center of Interdisciplinary life sciences with DBT.
